Norway has one of the lowest recidivism rates in the world; in 2018 the reconviction rate was 18% within two years of release, with a recidivism rate of 25% after five years.[1] The country also has one of the lowest crime rates on Earth.[2][3][4] Norway's prison system houses approximately three thousand offenders.[5]

Yeah but one must account for demographics and unreported crime. I am sure crime would surge in the US if it copied Norway's system. What works for one country is not always reproducible for others.

You say that you are sure. Basing this off feelings? Why are your feelings valid? Show me your studies that show this effect, or you can accept this society as a case study since they've, you know, actually done this. I'd rather the US justice system be more similar to this than it is currently.
