Ask HN: How do I find "tech-enabled" jobs vs. "tech jobs"

3 points by drumdance ↗ HN
I’ve been out of tech for a few years but now want to get back into. I have ~ 15 years of programming experience, but it’s mostly at small startups.

I’d like to work for a normal company that relies on tech but isn’t a tech company. I’d prefer something less than 500 people.

It seems like all the job posts I see are for either giants like Walmart or series-X companies looking for leet coders they can work to death.

Any ideas on where to look for tech-forward SMBs that are stable don’t feel compelled to become a unicorn?

I've always found these types of roles working with external recruiters. Places like Robert Half, etc.
