Ask HN: I'm an engineer, where to find designers?

I'm looking to get back into consulting/contracting on development work. In the past, I've started working with designers that I've partnered with. I was lucky to have met them from the start. Now that I'm getting started from scratch again, I need to find a designer. Any place online that's designed for engineers/product/designers to meet / match?

Also, what are some ways an engineer can find contract work that does not involve having to have a designer as a dependency.
