I've been using IINA since I think like a month or two after I got my first generation first month that came out m1 Mac mini. I didn't like the prospect of having to transcode and possibly reincode my whole video library just because QuickTime happens to I think play HDR video more accurately... So I just started using this instead because it plays MKVs and HEVC and HDR. And right now I'm in the process of using my PC and Intel ARC a750 to convert pretty much my whole library of videos to AV1 and this also plays that and it doesn't break a sweat.
