Protip: Don't bother reading any modern books on Stoicism besides The Inner Citadel by Pierre Hadot. Nearly every other book after that has basically been a recycled version of it.
Wasn't it Marcus Aurelius who said that even if you're the emperor of Rome, you should wake up expecting to spend a portion of your day dealing with posers?
