What is T-Mobile's "Profiling and automated decisions" app setting about?

A few years ago, T-Mobile opted me in to data collection without my consent. Relevant HN thread:

Now I notice something on their app that again is opt-out, not opt-in -- I discovered it enabled today.

It is vaguely about "...having profiling used for future decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you."

If you click MORE and scroll you'll see it.

Can anyone please give an explanation what this setting is?

Make your choice about profiling and automated decisions “Profiling” is a specific type of activity under certain privacy laws, and generally refers to the automated processing of personal data to evaluate, analyze, or predict certain personal aspects about your performance at work, economic situation, health, personal preferences, interests, reliability, behavior, location, or movements.
