And just last week they posted they could reduce battery cost of their LFP battery by 50% in the very near future.

If the battery gets even 200 miles to a cycle then that will be no degradation over 200,000 miles. Pretty good.

The title says 15-year lifespan, but the article says 15-year warranty. It would be dumb to set the warranty period to the exact same as the expected lifespan so I think this battery will have a much bigger lifespan.

If all governments are serious about global warming, they would move all public transport buses to this battery (and hook it up to Solar farms directly, when parked in terminals between break shifts). Public transport buses are the ones that would clock 1.5 million kms. (200 km / day x 300 days = 60,000 kms per year, considering 2 month downtime per bus). One can quickly wean off caveman oil.
To me it would make sense for large vehicles like city buses to use some sort of battery swapping system. Each half hour or hour when they get back to the main terminal they swap batteries and carry on.
Nah mate, overhead chargers above each busstop which automatically engage.
And they have downtime anyway in the night in most cases where they top up
In a way it’s kind of cool that the Chinese are powerful enough to be immune to the big oil lobbies from the US.
