Only seven hours between mistaken takedown and the problem being fixed? A surprisingly fast response from Facebook, I guess the optics of this was worse than most their erroneous takedowns.

And they still didn’t restore access to the critical article! Puts the lie to it being a system error.

You're right, it hasn't been completely fixed. I rescind my tiny amount of praise for now. Honestly, a one day response would still surprise me.

I'd bet on system error though, though after the eBay scandal I suppose anything is possible.

Fwiw, I’ve seen comments on HN about problematic aspects in FB’s past, which were factually correct and delivered on a neutral tone, but were reported/flagged and became invisible.
