Ruby is free. PHP is free. A Les Paul costs a lot more than an Alvarez. It is understandable to work with inferior tools if a better solution is not readily available, but that is not the case.
"Any actual real professional musician knows good and damn well that he can get a beautiful sound out of an Alvarez and that only rookies have the time to make fun of each other for their choice because the pros are too busy creating."

So, why do professionals then bother using better tools in the first place?

I really wonder if people submit links to HN with the sole purpose of getting ripped to shreds. Maybe it's a masochistic element in the nature of those blog writers.
