don't get used to that

I read a HN climate comment this winter about someone wondering about teaching the kids to ski. I wonder, in 5 years, if we're going to see snow in the winters at all?
I suspect that depends on where you're looking.

The overall trend line of more carbon emissions -> more heat -> less snow makes sense, but the complexities of terrain can create local conditions that can counterintuitively have a certain spot on the globe end up with more snow due to climate change. This can happen due to things like warmer oceans and warmer air off coast increasing precipitation, as snowfall, in mountains that are hundreds of miles inland.

Living in Calgary we still had days of -30 degrees celsius and plenty of snowfall this past winter

I think we will all have boiled alive before we stop getting snow in winter here

In Slovenia weather is like a rollercoaster this year. 24th March we had snow and yesterday we had record high 32°C.

Forecast is showing sub zero temperatures in the morning will be back in a bit more than a week.
