Ask HN: Cloudflare Billing Dispute

10 points by JadoJodo ↗ HN
I have a number of domains with Cloudflare. About a month ago, I was double charged for the renewal of one of my domains. I filed a support request with them, and ever since then, I have been getting the run-around. They keep trying to give me an account credit, instead of a refund. Because I am not on a paid plan, I am stuck using the SLOW support. After 30+ days, I just got back another response saying "We gave you an account credit already for the duplicate charge, this ticket is closing"

Does anyone know of a way to contact someone directly? I am amazed that such a simple issue has taken this much time/effort.

They will always just refer you back to support. If they refuse to give your money back then simply move your domains and chargeback.

Yes, Hacker News

I have had this conversation several times after billing / accounting messups (not with Cloudflare, but in general). I suggest you just them very explicitly:

Thankyou for crediting my account to correct the billing double charge.

I require my account balance to be flattened down to 0 now, as I have no desire to hold a credit balance with your institution or pay in advance. I keep my money with in a regulated/FDIC insured/interest paying account. You can pay me by wire/check/etc.
