I like there's a trend of this flag being raised from more and more places; but I wonder if there's also a solution somewhere in sight or what form that would take; more regulation after assholes reach monopoly status, sure... but what about before when they "disrupt" / destroy competitors by running red with cheap investor money?
The bluntest tool I can think of would be to block companies above a certain size from acquiring other companies.
That could mess up the entire VC/tech startup system, but it would also prevent large companies from killing competitors in the cradle. So many innovative startups in the last decade have been absorbed into big, much less interesting companies. Where would we be if all that tech wasn’t lost?
Because people are making videos about it posted on YouTube instead of rich media (text and video, not just video) hosted on privacy respecting platforms.
