youtube market dominance has to be technically regulated in the first place, for instance interop with noscript/basic (x)html browsers (let allow the usage of the html <audio> <video> elements).
They are plain evil and toxic for the world at forcing upon people their gigantic web engines (including their SDKs). This is not 'internet' this is compuserve all over again.
This really sucks. Because those apps are the only way to use SponsorBlock on mobile which is literally the only way that YouTube is still usable.
I really hope this will push viewers away from the platform and get content creators to move to a better platform.
I don't mind paying but I'd prefer my money no to go to an unethical company like Google, and also I don't want to still see ads (sponsors) when I pay for a premium sub. That's just unacceptable.
