If you took out the sequels, prequels, remakes and comic-book-copies, there'd be only about 2-3 "new, original" movies a year.
If you believe that, it’s worth broadening your horizons and looking beyond big Hollywood productions.
My Rule of Thumb: If it's from Hollywood, don't bother with it.

British movies are better on the whole. Especially the ones without the 'Token American' who is added so that American audiences can be included in the viewers by having somebody they know included in the credits.
