Hi,

I have an open source project that could do with some sponsorship and the ideal company in mind.

I’m a little stuck writing the intro email and wondered if anyone had any do’s/dont’s when cold pitching this?

When pitching this, be sure to focus like a laser on what actual value the company would get by sponsoring. "Good PR" doesn't count for much at all unless your project is already well-known and very popular.
