Built with Postgres, Diesel (Rust ORM), Tonic (Rust gRPC), Rocket (Rust HTTP), React, Tamagui (TypeScript/React UI toolkit), and Flutter (native apps/alternative client at https://jonline.io/flutter). Hosted on DigitalOcean, with CloudFlare as the HTTP CDN (a backburner project is to move gRPC traffic behind CloudFlare as well).

The instance linked (https://jonline.io) is federated with two other instances, https://bullcity.social and https://oakcity.social, that are oriented respectively towards events/discussion in Durham and Raleigh, NC (where I live). If you live here, feel free to add some of the events listed to your own calendar :)

Assuming HN doesn't hug me to death immediately (because my gRPC port isn't behind CloudFlare and this is just a single second-cheapest DigitalOcean box hosting 3 domains + 3 DBs + 3 MinIO instances), please feel free to sign up and create groups/posts/events/replies! You don't need an account to star/unstar posts and events - they are anonymous, and data about who stars/unstars posts/events is not tracked.
