I like Rust and Go, but I haven't seen any data which suggests widespread adoption in the "software industry" at large. Python is bigger than ever, C# is huge, C and C++ have many many years ahead even as newer languages slowly eat away at their niches.

This whole thing is based in this guys perception, and his need to feel rebellious to it.
