I am thinking of open sourcing the ozma-io core platform code

Now, my team will going to focus on the cloud and AI parts of the product, and it looks like there is no need to hide this huge codebase. I'll help our customers use their databases and change entities, fields, and columns using LLMs. But the core platform should be open.

Our partners already know the news. It is pretty big — an open-source business database platform on the market. Will see how Zoho and Odoo's partners will react. I would be happy if they joined our community and contributed to the ozma-io's backend and frontend repositories.

I want to do something big, not just a small SaaS company. Maybe open-source for this complicated software is the right way?

Please let me know if you know how to support our code drop with media or some open-source fans I can write to. It will be an exciting experience.

I think this is a great idea. Consider timing it when hubspot officially changes their pricing to be seat based (I believe that would be mid June), as that will cost them a loss in their smaller startup accounts.

What will the commercial offering be, just wondering. You need to make sure you have enough left over to sell.

Hey MarkinK, that's a great initiative. ozma.io looks good! What's the stack?

Open-sourcing it could be a good move to create a thriving community of supporters and customers but have in made that there are already multiple open source ERPs and CRMs, many of them very good. A few months ago I reviewed some of the options and what I saw was that:

- most projects are too old and are basically legacy code, clunky, ugly and difficult to extend - an established ERP/CRM after all

- The new ones are nice and look good but lack the features needed and being battle-tested over time

Where does your solution fit?
