Fun; I'm doing the reverse, Common Lisp under Vim with slimv. Not bad, and far less distractions. I was more than used to vi keys with sacc/mutt/nethack and friends. No erc, no jabber, no malyon, no Nethack. Yes, it's possible: https://github.com/be11ng/nethack-el I can spawn a tmux pane alongside vis/vim, but with Emacs you can do it with less effort.
I've been getting annoyed with Neovim and now trying out Zed.
