Ask HN: Why do AI-generated images seem boring and cheap to me now?

I am starting to subconsciously avoid looking at AI-generated images in articles and, moreover, I immediately perceive not only the image itself but the entire context (article/text) as "cheap" and "spammy".

Is it the same for you? Where can we start to improve this situation?

Once upon a time, it was considered a major flex to have aluminium "silverware". Now that we make throw-away takeout containers from the stuff, it's no longer true.

Compare tulips, pineapples, bling, computers, air travel, plastic surgery...
