I sympathize, but if it's going to happen in 30 years, it's going to happen even if urgent action is taken on the climate crisis, by Australia or by the whole world. It would still happen if humans magically stopped emitting any CO2 at all.
If we stop flying planes at night, the contrails they wouldn't be forming would allow more heat to radiate off of the night side of the planet.
Additionally, if we had the planes "run rich", they would make more contrails by day, which would increase the planetary albedo and reflect more light away (see also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_dimming ). We have inadvertently been doing geo engineering for decades, but with cleaning up the particulate emissions (a good thing!) we've also made it so that the planet heats up more.
And yes, this is controversial. But its not a "if we could" but rather "if we would" discussion.
