I worked for Samsung electronics in both mobile dev and R&D divisions. The culture in the Indian-Korean mix workforce was horrible. People stayed late hours but there was no hard work at all. It was a big mess with people solving one problem with two new ones. The management was obsessed with hiring from "top colleges", folks who'd then slack around out of entitlement and who had neither the motivation nor the competence to build anything substantial. Everyone would undergo an "algorithm and data structure" test. Long hours were wasted ranting "innovation". I can't comment on the hardware and other ventures but the software coming out of there was pure shit.
