Show HN: I made a macOS extension to convert HEIC to JPG straight from Finder (compressimage.app)
Hello HN,
Beside software engineering I do product design and I often deal with large image files. Many times the files are HEIC which is cumbersome as many sites don’t accept it as upload.
I created a small macOS extension that adds a Quick Action to the Finder right click menu so that I can compress & convert any number of images at once.
e.g. I import 250MB of HEIC files and I get 67MB JPG files upon a click.
Let me know if you find this useful!

Check 'Most Compatible'
That does the job for images.
Automator will change the format if you shoot video.
Not knocking what you have created, but conversion is not that tricky.
While I agree I could communicate it better, this utility not only converts but also compresses the image so you get 2 core functionalities in a click.
With this you can do it in the right click menu in 1 click.
