The original headline makes it clear that the suggestion was offered as a joke. Not a fan of the editorialized post title.

"Tech CEO jokes about drone-striking rivals in MAGA-tinged Hill summit"

That's not any different to me, personally.
Saying "it's a joke" doesn't suddenly make it OK.

"Tech CEO jokes about murdering rivals in MAGA-tinged Hill summit"

"Tech CEO jokes about SWAT-ing rivals in MAGA-tinged Hill summit"

"Tech CEO jokes about torturing rivals in MAGA-tinged Hill summit"

"Tech CEO jokes about raping rivals in MAGA-tinged Hill summit"

Nope, all still bad. There's some things that you don't joke about, like committing violence.

I agree with you. Drone strikes aren't an okay thing to joke about.

At the same time, the person who uploaded this story must disagree with you. They must have thought that Palantir CEO making jokes about drone strikes wasn't click worthy and resorted to making the title read more sensational than it needed to be.

It's so nice to see CD Projekt Red being hard at work to procure the next installment in the universe of Cyberpunk 2077!
Yeah them and Boeing would fit right in as Arasaka and Militech...
Even offered as a joke, this is wild "haha, so funny how we could just kill you all!" Well, he's probably a bit jealous of Boeing.
In Zero to One Thiel mentions a PayPal employee's suggestion to bomb their rival's office as an example of the evils of competition. Ironic that Thiel sold his Facebook shares, which would be worth 114 billion today, only to found a company that once again struggles with competition so much that the CEO fantasizes about violence.
The key quote which is buried in the middle of the article. This should have been at the top of the article rather than all that boilerplate telling the reader to get mad at the person. “I historically have been one that would rage against Silicon Valley venture people,” Karp said. “And I had all sorts of fantasies of using drone-enabled technology to exact revenge — especially targeted — in violation of all norms.”

Those CEOs are funny. It would be OK when they would be doing it, but the moment when competition will start striking them back, create alliances and try to utterly crush them, they would be first to run to their government and complaining about unfair trade practices.
