We all know that a connected digital ecosystem that is almost always on requires a decent implementation of event driven architecture.

Sure it is complex. But the alternatives are convenient in the short term.

What is stopping the commoditization of distributed event streaming patterns with all of the digital innovation that has come about in the last 10 years.

Is it merely the complexity? Is it change resistance? Is it something else?

Do you mean mass "cooperation" of event streams? Such that events can be sent between services and apps?
