It's also a bit funny that Latin has a distinct collation order compared to Greek and Cyrillic; I wonder when that happened? Before or after Etruscan?

EDIT: aha, it looks like etruscan didn't distinguish voicing for stops, so when the latin alphabet needed to make the voiced/unvoiced distinction, hard C wound up where G used to be.
