Yes, this is an infuriating headline, I didn't even want to read tfa till the end.

But it is not pure clickbait and it is relevant to this community.

Old adage. But to me this feels a lot worse or at least as bad as the suicide pact and gore stuff that circulated on the web since the millennium.

I hate the web's efficiency at pouring oil into burning fires.

I don't want every country in the world to turn into a social-media-fueled violent lynching cesspit.

Monkeys are primates and deliberately torturing animals, especially mammals, is an evil, antisocial trait that is very predictive of real-world cruelty towards humans.

This is one of the many "draw the line" scenarios where I'm glad that total anonymity is hard to achieve.

With that I don't mean that I'm in favor of tearing down walls that currently limit law enforcement and others.

It's just the repeat observation that social media is poison. Regardless of anonymity. Posting with my real first name, on social media.

How does even a demented person justify this to themselves? It's a waste of time, money, joy, monkeys.
