Cultivating startup ideas by just asking HN users what they should do is an interesting choice. I'll be paying attention to see how it works.
Not exactly cultivating startup ideas but more "where to apply the startup's tech we already have?" :)

Anyway, be sure that research on pains in HN is very good practice.

Really? like what? it should be one of the best offline/reactive tools
There are a few issues, but the most frustrating one is the inability to reload the page or close the tab. If you accidentally do either of these, any changes made since the last version was saved on the cloud while you were online will be lost. Sometimes, if you switch online and you are writing, you could lose everything.
