Out of touch / delusional. And according to this Twitter person, it's 'responsibility of the people' to have an income. As if some 'law of nature' says this is a thing. It's not, it's just what happens when there is scarcity.
GPT as Basic necessity!?!?!
If your goal is to get in as many homes as possible but also not pay for it, convincing the government it's a basic necessity seems to be a way to do it.
Good luck getting fed and having your basic shelter needs met by a "slice of GPT time".
As I see it, he could be not articulating the impact of his idea. If I owned a slice of GPT-7 productivity and sold it to someone else, that's my basic income. If I didn't need that baseline of cash I could use it for something else.

I'm a bit dubious, I doubt the economics work. But it's not like Elon Musk has suggested that cars or satellites could be a universal basic good.

This is literally just a scheme for the government to pay Altman’s company a fixed amount for every single citizen. The ultimate in crony capitalist bullshit.

One wonders if he is struggling to find a way to make the value of GPT models worth the price he needs to charge to keep them working.

Yeah, Good luck with GPT-7 when you have governments paying £35,000 a month on Floppy Disks to run Critical National Infrastructure.
