AI is developing at a pace faster than even most technologists can keep up with, let alone the layman. It has been, and continues to be an amazing ride… but for the first time today I think my worry outweighs my excitement for the future. It will not be long before these models catch up with the average humans capabilities’s (if they haven’t already), and once the compute is cheap and plentiful (and it will eventually be), what happens to the average Joe?
what do you mean what happens to them? the process of automating away jobs is ongoing for quite some time. so in that sense it's a political question. the solution is also not new, negative income tax (a form of UBI).
