For me a tablet isn't good enough to actually do some work and not small enough to carry them with me everywhere.

A laptop and phone combo seems much better.

So it’s an e-ink tablet running Android with front lighting but without access to the Play store? I’m not clear what’s so revolutionary about that.
I saw them say on Twitter it’s much higher refresh rate (60 fps?) than existing e-ink devices, but not sure.
BOOX already beat them to the punch also.
I’m waiting for the day I can do real coding work on a tablet.

I’ve had this weird aversion to sitting at a desk for a couple years now. I’m thinking it’s burn out related.

Doesn’t a Surface fit that requirement?
Afaik the surface line doesn't stand on their own but with a kickstand, making working on your lap near impossible.
The kickstand works great on your lap. I understand why you'd be concerned but there are zero issues with it (speaking as an owner of at least 3 successively more powerful surfaces with kickstands)
How do you type in lap position?

Easily. Spoken as someone who's owned a number of these devices and who prefers to work while sitting on a couch or comfy chair. The kickstand and keyboard work great on your lap. Whatever fear you have simply isn't a reality.

Would you recommend a surface over a standard laptop for couch work? Why or why not?
If only someone made a computer you could put on your lap

I’ll be interested in seeing how this is different from the offerings from Onyx.
I don't see any difference. Onyx also has google play store. From the info so far it looks like just another of the bunch.
Not an eink tablet, it's an rLCD tablet, so it's more like how it is different from the upcoming TCL's NextPaper 3 devices.

NextPaper 3 is still a full color LCD panel that you switch between modes tho.

Dude an investor in this startup or what?
What's the Indian equivalent of the 'bamboo network' called?
$800?! This is a sandwich in search of a picnic.
