great except then:

ouch thats expensive, at least on the garage scale.

I'm having some success with composting substrate and recycling it back into a pile with fresh material. Not great success, further iterations should improve technique.

Most of the stuff they tested would be valued in many context after even a couple seasons of use; would make a great garden till in enrichment, etc.
