Carlo passed away at only 15 years old in 2006 after a battle with leukemia. With the formal recognition of a second miracle attributable to his intercession, the Vatican is prepared to canonize him (declare him a saint).
He spent much of the later part of his life creating a website documenting Eucharistic miracles, occasions where the bread and/or wine actually become flesh and blood during a Catholic Mass (or some other miracle occurs in their presence).
