VisionGPT is open source, and I welcome contributions from the community. Whether you're a developer looking to enhance the project or a user with feedback, your input is invaluable.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

How does it compare to Llavva?

Have you bemchmarked it?

Love the bait and switch where you are invited to upload an image, THEN asked to create an account and provide an e-mail.

No.

It you start out that manipulative, then I can't be bothered to engage.

If you require account creation, then be honest, and say so upfront.

It has been established that this is a standard pattern for most image processing services to prevent abuse though...

I completely understand that it might not be for you, but in business school we were taught that engagement metrics is key to growth, and account creation is a good indicator of engagement.

If your "established" practice is user hostile through psychological manipulation, you deserve to lose the engagement. Fuck your business school.
It is a SaaS project, and all SaaS projects require create an account.
> VisionGPT uses the Gemini Pro Vision model to analyze images

It's a nice an open-source front end to Gemini Pro, but that's mainly it right? Or am I missing something? It's not new model?

Seems like this might make a good portfolio project demonstrating some front end knowledge but as far as marketing a standalone product, in the end it's just a razor thin wrapper around Google Gemini.

With a moat this shallow, even the Coast Guard could storm your castle.

> Coast Guard

I get what you mean but that's maybe not the best analogy. the coast guard has a bunch of badasses who jump out of helicopters for a living, not to mention the helicopters and ships which carry them.

“Most people don't think of the Coast Guard as being particularly well-armed. Most people are wrong. A Coast Guard patrol boat is armed with two .50-caliber machine guns, and a 25-millimeter cannon, which means it can take out anything short of a battleship.”

-Michael Westen

I am only 20% facetious.
