Ask HN: Why do companies pay millions for Servicenow?

3 points by altdataseller ↗ HN
Why do they pay millions for a glorified ticketing CRUD app? Why cant they save their money and use something simpler? Is it because its a rounding error for them? Because they need enterprise support? Because nobody got fired for buying Servicenow products?

I am genuinely curious and ignorant. Like its just a glorified CRUD. It doesnt even have any special intelligence like ChatGPT. Nor does it have some special secret sauce, that I know of.

I hope i dont sound dismissive or obnoxious. I genuinely want to know why conpanies pay millions to them

Why do you care about what companies do with their money? Are there better options? I'm sure there are. But it's no concern of mine or yours. Unless, of course, you're doing market research for a competitor ...
Not doing market researvh for a competitor but more like want to get into the mind of these enterprise buyers and what they are thinking in general
What did they use before, that is the question. My company used HPESM before and everyone hated it.
It’s the in buzzword for middle level managers.
