Show HN: Terminus – A Free, Versatile, Self-Hosted OS Based on Kubernetes (github.com)
As a self-hosting enthusiast for years, I've encountered many challenges first hand in setting up and maintaining a secure, efficient hosting environment for my applications. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with situations like:
Complicated Configurations: Setting up domain names, certificates, reverse proxies, vpn can be a time-consuming and error-prone process.
Deployment Difficulties: Deploying complex applications like Gitlab or Mastodon often requires advanced technical knowledge and significant effort.
Multi-Device Management: Managing multiple devices and scaling up can be overwhelming, especially with the steep learning curve of Kubernetes.
That’s why we created Terminus OS, a free, versatile self-hosted OS which tackles these challenges head-on. Built on Kubernetes, Terminus OS simplifies the entire self-hosting process, making it more accessible, manageable, and secure.
Would greatly appreciate your feedback to help us improve. Happy to answer any questions here.

[ 3.7 ms ] story [ 19.4 ms ] threadThis represents a significant challenge we have encountered while promoting this concept and architecture.
The group we are addressing, a community of upright engineers focused on solving real-world problems, often associates blockchain with negative connotations.
From a detailed perspective, this project incorporates blockchain technology only in limited aspects related to DNS and CA. The advantage is that it simplifies domain name and certificate management for users without a technical background.
We will continue to work hard to challenge the gambling culture in the blockchain world.
