The very first line: "Democrats vigorously defended the public health bureaucracy when Republicans sought to tear it down during the pandemic"
.. Implying that no one was attempting to correct errors in process (because no errors were being made), and this was a fight to protect Respected Institutions from being torn down by conservative politicians.
...and the media wonders why they've lost trust of their readers.
Aren't we talking about the country where error correction won over the very top administrator? He said "I am not a crook", error correction won. You shouldn't just assume that such a country has no error correction.
I didn't say "no error correction"; I said "somewhat less effective". Error correction worked with Nixon, eventually; it mostly worked with Trump, so far, but the final outcome is not yet known.
Politico is hardly held up as a shining star in media circles.
It's also not very precise to cast the issue of dereliction at the NIH prior to the pandemic as of it were "the" salient contended issue at the beginning of the pandemic.
>I suggested Arthur try to interview Tony directly and connected him to our
"secret" back channel.
>I forgot to clarify in my email yesterday that BOTH my gmail and phone calls are now safe. Text is NOT, as it can be FOlA'd, as can my govt email.
>So you and Peter and others should be able to email me on gmail only, with the caveat that no other govt. employee is copied at a govt address, as all govt emails are potentially FOIA'able.
>You are right, i need to be more careful. However, as i mentioned once before, i learned from our foia lady here how to make emails disappear after i am foia' d but before the search starts, so i think we are all safe. Plus i deleted most of those earlier emails after sending them to gmail.
>But I learned the tricks last year from an old friend, Marg Moore, who heads our FOIA office and also hates FOIAs.
>Frankly, Ithink it was prob a mistake to allow anything of EHAs to be FolA'd in the first place, given that these conspiracy folks are just pulling things completely out of context and feeding them to people like Rand Paul and other nut-jobs.
