It's still the same organization that creates the Work Number product, as a subsidiary/independent division of Equifax, under the name of Equifax Workforce Solutions. They operate independently of Equifax headquarters with the same headquarters as they had when they were TALX. It's really a just a glorified data broker.
I hate the Work Number with a passion. What's more disgusting though is people's own employers giving them all your salary and other private information for their own convenience and without your consent and sometimes without your knowledge.
