But the best thing about Bluesky is that it's not full of the type of people from Threads or Twitter.
Counterpoint: The best thing about Bluesky is that it is open enough that it may be able to sustain more than a monoculture.
Bluesky doesn't even need to exist if being "open" means that every network will merge into the same Eternal September rather than remain something unique and independent.
It sounds like your idea of "open" is "closed"
Would it make this site better if it became dominated by a flood of content from Threads?
"Open" means "open" not "better".
But what virtue does "open" have in a vacuum if, in a given context, it makes that thing worse?
The best thing about blue sky is it’s completely dead, so you get a pseudo echo chamber.
The way filter lists work on the site means you can easily decide to never see posts or users from threads. The "Profile Labeller" [0] labeller already has a specific filter for threads users.

I'm just annoyed you're still limited to less than ten of them at a time.

Excellent!

It's still possible that it could change Bluesky culture for the worse, for example if native Bluesky content devolves into shallow but high engagement Threads type content as a result of being forced to compete with it. But no use worrying about every hypothetical.
