But how despised was it really?
I accept that many creative folks had a visceral reaction to the ad, but from what I remember reading afterwards there were also a great many folk commenting that they didn’t think it was all that bad.
I’ve no idea of the numbers, but I suspect the reaction was over-reported as opposed to over-sized.
I myself caught the last few seconds of it when it was live and haven’t bothered to find it again as I was neither saddened nor impressed by what I saw. Neither feeling was enough draw for me to seek it out again because I really despise adverts - including those for Apple.
