There's a ton of tools and libraries that aren't going to work well on windows. Thankfully today there's WSL. It can host a fine Rancher Desktop, or other similar tools. It's free, it just works, it takes an hour to get going.
I have no compassion for saying we should limit ourselves to only lowest common denominators. And in this case, there isn't anything holding these folks back; Windows has finally made a go at not being a technological backwater & there's now fine options.
