Ask HN: Co-Founder Leaving Startup

I have vested half my equity (double digits) and soon my startup plans to raise seed. I think its not going to work out and want to leave. My co-founders are formidable and I'm sure they'll continue. I'm the tech co-founder.

Is it more fruitful for me to wait until we raise to quit (but still tell my co-founders now), thus raising the chances my equity might be worth something one day or; leave now in the hope that the VCs will buy me out of my shares as I'm "dead equity"? I have no idea if the latter is a thing - we have revenue and product but are early.
