This article sounds like a press release for oil and ethanol producers. Big oil, still basically selling out the rest of humanity so they don’t lose all those profits.
I wonder what happens when the first countries go into wet bulbs. I can imagine state sponsored assassin teams avenging those afflicted societies by attacking every oil exec and their descendants. Or threatening hosting states with nuclear arms to dispose of them and redistribute the wealth to energy grid transition or else.. We humans tend to be very emotional towards the end.
Ethanol is such a phenomenally disgusting boondoggle that it alone should be enough to convince anyone that the United States political system is utterly broken. US politics is pay-to-play and nothing demonstrates it quite so clearly as the ethanol industry.
It literally takes more energy to produce ethanol than we are able to derive from the ethanol. That we produce any of it is a testament to the corruption and/or ineptitude of our politicians.
