Ask HN: Is there a part of your routine that other people might find helpful?
Jerry Seinfeld to NYT: The first thing I do each morning is splash water on my face. I got this idea from the movie "The Hustler" with Jackie Gleason and Paul Newman. This act helps me switch from lying down to standing up, much like a curtain drop between acts on Broadway. As I look at my face with water dripping off, I clap my hands and say, “All right. Let’s go.” It makes me feel energized, like Muhammad Ali on a coffee-table book.
Inspired by this, I want to ask: Is there a part of your routine that others might find helpful right now?

When I was working I would get up each day at 5:00am do an hour on my exercise bike.
Shower, have a quick breakfast, leave home at 6:30am to make it to work for 9:00am
The most important thing for me was when I got home from working with chaotic and mentally ill clients all day, was to sit outside my home for 30-60 minutes before I walked to my front door.
My thinking here was that this alone time was a time for reflection, to cleanse my soul and unburden myself of the contamination projected onto me by clients I had worked with all day.
You do not want to take that home to your family.
I think everyone should consider doing this regardless of what profession you work in.
Work should always be left at work. It has no place at home
