Show HN: Kuse – A visual, non-linear infinite canvas for ChatGPT (app.kuse.ai)

Hi guys, we’ve been working on this new UI/UX over the past 2 months.

Why we built this:

- We found the typical linear-based chatbot is not enough for handling complex conversations. - Just like you'd use a whiteboard for detailed discussions with your teammates, Kuse provides a visual interface for dynamic, non-linear conversations.

How it works:

- At the core of KUSE is one magic block. Behind the scenes, it’s multi-modal LLM with many integrated tools: image generation, image editing, search, etc. - Within the infinite canvas, you can always divide conversations to bulletpoints or group multiple branches together. (It’s not just tree-based, it’s actually graph-based! Super flexible.)

Our beta testers are using Kuse to do brainstorming, travel planning, project management, research, content drafting, etc

It’s completely free now. Lots of features to build going forward: Collaboration, more whiteboard (text, drawing, etc) capabilities, semantic search, code execution, etc… Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

I recently started using KUSE AI and it has been an absolute game-changer for me. The platform is incredibly intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate even for someone who isn't very tech-savvy. I especially appreciate the seamless integration of various AI tools on a single canvas. It saves me so much time and effort, as I no longer have to switch between different applications. The AI's ability to understand and generate detailed images and texts based on simple prompts is impressive. Overall, KUSE AI has significantly enhanced my productivity and creativity. Highly recommended!
Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it.
Canvas for chatGPT may sound a bit abstract. But once I started working with Kuse, I realized how natural and smooth the workflow of everything was: just this afternoon, I uploaded the Bitcoin whitepaper into Kuse and generated an architecture diagram. No complicated application switching or copying and pasting, just simple drag and drop and typing to get there, which is exactly what I want from an AI product.
non-linear AI chat/workflow would be pretty useful
kuse is pretty cool!!! It's super helpful for learning new things. I love how it can expand GPT's answers into a mind map. Looking forward to the updates.
I've tested it briefly and like the concept. However, I'm curious about its real-world applications and user-friendliness. The search function could be more intuitive. Despite these, it's an innovative step in the LLMs field. Is there a plan to develop this into a workflow builder or something?
Thanks! We are also exploring different use cases. Right now, we saw people using this for travel plan, brainstorming, research (market research, product research, etc)

Workflow builder is an interesting idea, could you elaborate more? Did you see any similar workflow builder?

Very cool project. Wondering what's the next step of this canvas-based workflow product can take us to. Would definitely test it out and recommand to friends.
I really love the scrap paper style. But as a Miro user I wouldn’t choose Kuse for now. Because I need to write rich-formatted notes in sticky, hope you can make whiteboard more powerful.
The idea is cool. I've tried its image generation and web integration. I’m wondering what are real use cases? Do you guys plan to release some templates?
This interaction suits me perfectly! It's easy to backtrack and start a new discussion with the AI from somewhere in the past.

It's just a little uncomfortable to use the mouse for this, I would prefer it to be as smooth as some whiteboard Apps.

Thanks for replying. Yeah we got similar feedback this week. Actively looking into it now
As a programmer and artist, I tried out Kuse and found the node-based interaction to be really innovative, much like Blender's node editor. But the current features are somewhat limited. I'm excited to see future updates, especially with the code execution feature. It has the potential to become a node-based Jupyter Notebook!
I use kuse in Windows, it is a lovely interface, very simple to use, I try to generate images with text, can specify different styles until I am satisfied, it is amazing.
It looks like an interesting take on collaborative whiteboards. The integration of open-source generative AI models for image and text generation could be a game-changer for brainstorming sessions.

I'm curious about how well it handles real-time collaboration with multiple users, especially when AI-generated content is being added to the canvas. Has anyone here tried it out? I'd be particularly interested in hearing about the learning curve and how it compares to other tools like Miro or Figma in terms of performance and feature set.

Also, for those who've used it: how does the AI integration actually work in practice? Does it feel seamless, or is it more of a bolt-on feature? And how customizable are the AI models - can you fine-tune them for specific use cases?

Thanks, we are still building out the collaboration features. Performance on collaboration is a hard problem but there are industries good practices we'd follow.
I have only been using ChatGPT for simple research question or to get some quick help while coding. This is due to ChatGPT's inability to handle multiple workflows at once and come up with a summative resolution to the issue. I really hope that this approach of non-linear conversation would be continuously developed. This will open up many doors to the real life application of AI, and also make it easier/user-friendly to non-tech audiences also. Great job, I love what you guys are building.
I've been using Kuse for a while now, and it has transformed how I manage complex projects. The visual, non-linear interface feels natural and intuitive, allowing me to organize thoughts and ideas effortlessly. The multi-modal LLM integration is impressive, making tasks like brainstorming, research, and planning much more efficient. It’s a unique and powerful tool that has genuinely boosted my productivity and collaboration with my team. Highly recommend giving it a try!
I work in the marketing industry where brainstorming and visual planning are crucial for me. So, there are two things indispensable to my work—whiteboards and ChatGPT. Kuse just combines these characteristics perfectly. It's more like a ChatGPT on canvas. It can do multi-threaded job but ChatGPT only responds in a single thread! Looking forward to more upgrades!
