Have worked with former PMs of Tiktok and the US employees are kept at arms' length from real decision makers and leaders in China. Why should the US gov trust that the "Dedicated Transparency Center" in Maryland even had access to the things that needed to be transparently shared?

I was just told that they American PMs there have limited power, autonomy, ability to get information, etc. It's very top-down, need to know, they have a culture where if you start to give #s on something during a meeting a representative from the legal department might cut you off and tell you to stop speaking because leadership cannot be allowed to know that info. (Take a guess why)
there is no reality where the chinese government doesn't have whatever access it wants to this data. lets be real here people. thats just how they roll
