I’m not sure what the different incentives are, but I’ve read people say Tik Toks comment section is where it’s at, but I’m almost never inclined to read the comments, which differs from Reddit/hn/threads where I may be more interested in the comments than the original content.
So does Twitter and every other algorithmic social network.
Hacker News also does shadowbanning.
This post is about Instagram, not TikTok.
I had to take a closer look because all these apps have the same UI but you are right. The person is on Tiktok talking about a video and comment section they saw on Instagram.
