[ 2.9 ms ] story [ 28.2 ms ] thread

Do people usually read all the articles on hackernews? I just pick and choose the ones that seem actually interesting. Does this filter by actually interesting articles to me or just picks the top five of the day?
I find that some people tend to doomscroll here much like how people do on twitter or tiktok. Hackletter only filters by the articles that are trending that day.
I find it difficult to believe that someone's time could be so valuable that they can't afford spare a few moments to read a thread (or apparently even RTFA) and need to optimize to this degree... yet they're still here.

Like, Hacker News isn't supposed to be work. It's supposed to be fun. You're supposed to enjoy the experience of reading and conversation as an intellectual and social exercise.

I also agree with you to an extent. Hacker News is for winding down and reading, but not everyone runs on the same schedule or has the same needs. If you enjoy reading through everything and it helps you wind down, then I wouldn't recommend this for you. I think it's better if you do what's best for your own personal goals.

Plus this is sort of a side project for me and users are just an added bonus.

I am more lazy open email tuan hacker news. Btw I use harmony as my hacker news client.
