Beryl remains a category 5 hurricane with 160 mph maximum sustained winds.

Beryl is expected to make a direct hit on Jamaica tomorrow as a major hurricane.

I think that article is a bit out of date. It’s a bit rainy and windy in Jamaica but nowhere near hurricane force. It hit at 1am and was briefly very rainy but has calmed a lot since it devastated SVG and Grenada.

Source: am in Jamaica right now and my mother is sitting outside under cover reading a book.

According to NOAA the expected arrival time of tropical storm force winds in Jamaica is 8am-2pm EDT, with hurricane force winds to follow:

Although it has dropped from Category 5 down to Category 4.

15-minute-old radar images show only the leading rain bands over Jamaica, storm proper still at sea and headed toward the island.
Glad that you and yourn are safe and well! Here’s hoping the Yucatán and eventually Starbase fares as well.
