The left and the right agree on an awful lot, particularly how to swing the pendulum to and fro. I think this is amplified by the internet and media, where we see echo chambers amplifying ideas (to the benefit of individual egos and the institutions which reify them) without relativity to personal histories and experiences which inform them.
